Fixing my friend's computer

There's this little icon at the bottom of the screen that is a red exclamation mark, and it says it's "spyware removal software," but it isn't. It's an infection of some kind. Upon researching how to remove it, I was instructed to download hijack this. However I don' tknow what to DO with it now. I ran a scan, and got a log file.

Download VundoFix.exe by Atribune from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and windows as this may require a reboot.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove - in this case, VundoFix will run on reboot - simply repeat the above instructions.

Run HJT:
  • Click Open the Misc Tools section.
  • Click Open Uninstall Manager…
  • Click Save list… and save it to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste the file uninstall_list.txt into your next reply.
