This PC has multiple infections so this will take awhile to clean.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed
to.

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Config…"
2. Click "Misc Tools"
3. Click "Open Process manager"

Note: If any of these aren't found just move on to the next one.

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\Program Files\DeluxeCommunications\DxcBho.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\vaolg.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\knsysa.exe
c:\windows\system32\rlvknlg.exe
C:\Program Files\DeluxeCommunications\Dxc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\divoice.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\rlls.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jtno0753e.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\vaolg.dll

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

Next:
1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:
DeluxeCommunications

Next:
Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Delete this Folder if listed:
C:\Program Files\DeluxeCommunications

Next:
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
After running ATF cleaner, I didn't notice slower bootup (faster if anything).

Actually this is a friend's computer, so I'm not familiar with the behavior. I do know when I undertook this fiasco yesterday, running Adaware and SpyBot initially gave me 500+ critical objects. I had to go to Safe Mode to even get into the system.

Since taking your last instruction, I haven't received any popups, so I think we are well on our way.

Attached is the latest HJT log…Let me know if I should do anything else…Thanks!

* Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combo.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster,
Spywareguard.
IE Spyads
They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening.

Also get a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
by Tony Klein
Thanks for all your help. The IE7 I loaded is also working good now. Previously, when I would attempt tp open a new tab, the whole browser would shut down…so whatever you did fixed that too. I will take your suggestions and load the programs you mentioned on my friend's computer. Again, thanks for everything! :D
