I need help.
I have read the "how to" post and have tried to follow all of the instructions there.
I preformed updates on both Ad Aware and Spybot.
SpyBot found and corrected 17 problems.
Ad Aware found 5 critical objects and I corrcted those as well.

I'm still experiencing system slowness and frequent and frustrating crashes with Mozilla Firefox web browser.

The problem is not specific to any particular web page or the amount of browser pages I have open at any one time.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Download ewido anti-spyware here. Save it to your desktop.

Once you have downloaded and ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop
and double-click it to launch the set up program.
Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition
files. On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the
"Update now" link.

You may wish to set your update interval now. Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a
progress bar will show the updates being installed.

Once the update has completed you may want to select the "Scanner" icon at the top of
the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then
select ""Quarantine". Under "Reports" Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
Un-Select "Only if threats were found"This may save you some steps latter.

Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.

Reboot your computer into SafeMode instructions here. You can do this by restarting
your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or
programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess.

Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
then click on "Complete System Scan".

Ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
time.

Once the scan is complete if you have completed the settings above, then you may click "Apply all actions" tab if you have not. Then click save report, then under the action tab, click the file and select delete or quarantine. Quarantine will let you reinstall the file if need be.

Should you receive a warning notice like the one below select "Yes, for All"

Next select the "Reports" icon at the top. To the left select the last report. In the body where the arrow is right click on your mouse then select all. Right click again this time select copy. Return to your thread. Select add reply in the body of your reply right click and select paste.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I do use the Party Poker site, so I didn;t delete it.
The system seems to be operating at a better pace, but Mozilla crashed out as I was trying to get back here to reply to you.
I did download the latest version of Mozilla from Firefox when this issue started last month, but it seems to have no effect. It doesn't matter if it's only 1 window open (as when I was trying to get back to this thread) or several browser windows open, it just closes all the browser windows and prompts me to send an error report.
Any other suggestions?

Wouldn't hurt to update your SunJava.

Update Java

Go to Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs.
Search for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment…. )
It should have this icon next to it: [external image: Posted Image]
Click that entry and then click on the Change/Remove button.
Then download and install the newest version of Java from here.

You need to update SunJava.
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9.

Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".

Click the "Download" button to the right.

Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".

Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.

Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.

Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.

Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. It should have the [external image: Posted Image] icon next to it.

Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.

Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.

Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_09-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
