Hello Everyone. I hope you can help with this one. I have spent days trying to fix this and I am at my wits end.

OK I have a spyware problem at its worst. I have downloaded and used just about every spyware and anti virus program I can get my hands on to no avail.

This started when I unfortunately downloaded a file that I shouldn't have. I won't go into too much detail, but lets just say it had something to do with keygen/serial. As soon as the file opened it disappeared into my system from my desktop and I have had nothing but problems ever since. The majority of my problems involve pop up ads for spyware programs that just don't give up. These pop ups continue to load everytime I browse the net. These sites are either usually WinAntiVirus Pro 2006, SysProtect and Ultimate Cleaner.(plus others) I have had ad-aware and spybot already installed for years as well as AVG anti-virus. I have run all of these programs numerous times since this occured but nothing works. I am getting trojan viruses that keep infecting my system now and even though AVG removes them temporarily they keep coming back.

Last week I spent 4 hours downloading and running every spyware cleaning tool known to man using this link.(below) I did the series of cleans 3 times (in safe mode) as instructed but then went onto the net again and immediately got the spyware pop ups again. This is the proceedure I followed last night http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=50662 Anyway that hasn't worked and the next step advised me to use this forum for help. I downloaded hijack this and without reading this site info or anything really (stupid I know) i did remove one item using the hijack this program.(Ultimate Cleaner) I will attach two hijack logs to this forum. The first is the log prior to me removing the one file (Ultimate Cleaner) and the second is a log of my system since. Anyway this morning when I tried to get on the net my browser has been hijacked and I can't use any of the icons to open programs on my desktop AND I can't seem to open some programs including Internet explorer using any method!!!

Please help me. Thanks in anticipation of some guidance.

Thanks again guys….Champtiger28
Hi, Welcome to Tom Coyote's :) I'm Angelfire and it'll be my pleasure to assist you in your problem. Reasearching Hijackthis logs could take sometime so please, be patient while I research a fix for you. Also, I have to let experts check my fixes first before bringing them to you. Please hold on.
1.) Hijackthis needs to be in its own folder:

a.) While in your Desktop, right click in the background > Go to New > click Folder > Name the Folder HJT

b.) After creating the folder, find your Hijackthis.exe (it looks like a detonator with some dynamites). Then, drag and drop that file to the new folder you created.

2.) Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > uninstall the items in bold if found.

1. Ipwins

The following program could probably be the reason why you are having some malware troubles. Having a P2p program on your machine is like playing with fire… It is your call if you want to remove it or not.

2. Bittorrent

Reboot

3.) It is possible that some of the entries are hiding from us, so I suggest you to please rename Hijackthis.exe to something like angelfire777.exe

4.) Please download VundoFix.exe to your Desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES.
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

5.) Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

DO NOT run any other options until you are told to do so!!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc…processutil.htm

On your next reply, please include a fresh HijackThis log, Vundofix log and the smitfraudfix log..
Hello Angel…OK Did as you said and here is the logs you requested….

Please print out or copy these instructions to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Run AVG Anti-Spyware
  • From the main AVG Anti-Spyware screen, click on Update, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Exit AVG Anti-Spyware. DO NOT scan yet.
______________________________

Reboot into Safe Mode

To enter Safe Mode..

Fantastci, thanks angel!!! Sorry I have been very busy with work lately and bit slack getting back to you. All seems great and no problems for a while, although being so busy I haven't been on the home computer as much as I would like. Thanks again for all your help. I am also doing all the things suggested to prevent these things happening again. Will have a goood go on the system in the new few days and post a full reply with my results. Thanks again for your help. Can't thank you enough for ending the headaches….champtiger28
