Hi! I have the problem with pop-ups from Antispyware Soldier saying that my computer is infected and that I should get some antispyware (approximately two pop-ups every minute). Sometimes an Internet Explorer browser opens with the website total-pc-protection.com. The background on my desktop is now a website (yod.htm) saying "Warning! Spyware threat detected on your PC." and shows my IP address and a link that opens the browser with the same total-pc-proctection.com website. When I tried to set the another background the yod.htm background came back immediately (even when removing the yod.htm file). I am not really good with computers. I am running Windows XP (in Swedish). I am running avast! antivirus but only since today. I haven't had an antivirus program running before. avast! didn't help removing this thing. Any help with removing this thing is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Hi,

Please download HijackThis from http://www.hijackthisaid.org/tools/dls/click.php?id=2
After downloading, you have place it into a permanent folder such as "C:\HJT". To do this:

* Navagate to your C:\ drive.
* Right click inside of the C:\ drive
* A menu with the choice "New" will pop up
* Hover over "New" and select "Folder" from the sub-menu that pops up.
* Rename the Folder HijackThis
* Drag HijackThis into the new folder.

Next, open HijackThis, and click the "Scan" button. Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet!

Now click the 'Save Log' button.

Post the contents of that log as a reply to this post.

Hey!

Thanks again!

susp.exe was not in the system32 folder when I was to delete is. It was however in the WINDOWS folder so I deleted it from there. The other file in the system32 folder I deleted.

But nothing happened. The files are back after rebooting and I still have the same problems…

Hi,

Please download Ad-Aware SE Personal and install it. If you already have Ad-Aware SE, please configure it as indicated below. If you have a previous version of Ad-Aware, please uninstall your current version and install the newest version SE 1.06.

1) Run Ad-Aware, and click Check for updates now.

2) Select Configurations (click the Gear wheel at the top) as follows:
  • General Button > Safety & Settings: Check (Green) all three.
  • Tweak Button > Cleaning Engine > UNcheck "Always try to unload modules before deletion".
Click Proceed.

3) To start the scan, Click > "Scan Now" at left
  • Deselect "Search for negligible risk entries" as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
  • Select "Search for low-risk threats"
  • Select "Perform full system scan"
  • Click Next
4) When the scan has completed, select Next.
  • In the Scanning Results window, select the "Critical Objects" tab.
  • Right-click on the screen and choose "Select all objects"
  • Click Next to remove the infections found, and click OK to the prompt.
  • Restart the computer, and post a new HijackThis log.

Hey! After running Ad-Aware a couple of times (once automatically after reboot) the pop-ups stopped and I changed my background (without the "spyware warning" background coming back). However the susp.exe and the runsrv32.exe files are still in my logfile.

Thanks so much for the help! What should I do next?!
