Symantec is acting like one of the big dogs in software development. Read about it here.

Spybot-S&D is one of the better software programs available free of charge, unlike Symantec which charges $69.99 for one year.

I would not use it if it were free. ;-)

Spybot-S&D also provides a free support forum for its product. With a malware removal forum for the newest threats on the net.
All this and it is not as doggy as Symantec. what_really_slows_windows_down :pcsmash:

All I can say to Symantec is "If you're going to bark like a big dog don't pee like a puppy."

Now after reading this thread you decide to remove Symantec please visit this webpage. You wouldn't want to screw up your PC more than it already is :dancer:

Note: I may be a M$_MVP but I do not get paid for supporting Microsoft or endorsing their products. I just help out people like you that are having troubles with Malware.

I also help out at Spybot's forums when I have time helping people regain the use of the PC they paid for.
I do however recommend using Spybot on any PC.

Thanks LDTate, and particular thanks to Little Eagle This is the most informative link that I've read so far, to help me understand why I already don't like Norton. I did read all the related links and appreciate the time and care with which this informative article was written. Best Regards, Doug
Hehe, for me it's free since it comes with the ISP. I must agree I have had a lot of trouble with it, so when I'm bying a new computer I'm gonna leave norton on this computer :P
