Hi.
I'm having a problem.
When using Google to make a search, I select a found website but get transferred to www.search.net or some unfamiliar advertising website. Sometimes when I return to my Orange Homepage it has no toolbar. Can you see anything unusual in my Highjack this log?
Thanks

Scan with ewido post the results here with a new hijackthis log.
Hi.

Thank you very much Little Eagle. Your help is appreciated. I am including the reports that you asked for.
Since contacting Tom Coyote my computer became really slow and I have purchased Xoft.spy. I have run it and although it has removed some spyware and speeded things up, I still get redirected to weird sites when I search on Google.
Thanks.

Log looks clean :D

One of the best features of Windows XP is the System Restore option, however if a virus or spyware infection.
There can be backups made in the System Restore folder.
Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after a virus or spyware removal.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account
which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because
you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

To help keep your PC clean follow the recommendations in Tony Klein's article
So how did I get infected in the first place?
Hi Little Eagle. Many thanks for all your help. I don't think that Windows 2000Pro has a system restore. I can't find it under My Computer/Properties anyway. My computer seems to be back to normal so once again, Thanks!! Paul Geraghty
