Hello and Welcome to the Forum.

Please delete any HijackThis Folders and Files you have now.Use Add/Remove Programs and remove HijackThis. What you have now is out dated.

you can get a complete installer that installs HijackThis to C:\Program Files\HijackThis, making an entry in the start menu and also providing a desktop shortcut from http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe .

Click on the link and select Save, save it to your desktop and double click HJTsetup.exe.

Open HijackThis and select: Do a system scan and save a log file.

When the scan is finished, Click Edit> Select All> Edit> Copy> and paste its contents here plese use the [Add Reply] button below.

Please let me know if everything is ok, particularly the PD0620 item.

I should say that I am having trouble with reinstalling McAfee at the moment. I cannot enable the Virus Scan nor Spamkiller, and the Firewall does not log incoming events because I think the Filter Engine is not starting. Other than that, the firewall appears to be working ok, and Windows Security Centre is recognising it ok. I can do a manual scan with the McAfee Virus Scan, which shows that there are no virusesetc, and a Kaspersky online scan showed again that everything was ok.


Any help that you can give would be gratefully appreciated.

Is there anything in the log that might conflict with McAfee or stop it working. At the moment, I am working on the basis that I still have on my system an older version of McAfee that is preventing reinstallation

Is your McAfee on CD?


Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PD0620 STISvc] RunDLL32.exe P0620Pin.dll,RunDLL32EP 513

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"


Delete this File if listed:
C:\windows\system32\P0620Pin.dll



Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thankyou for your response. In fact, I ran X-Ray PC, and it established that the PD 0620 Item related to my Web Cam, so everything is ok from that point of view. I have downloaded and run ATF Temp Cleaner, and it is a very useful utility. As for McAfee, yes I have a CD. I have got my Virus Scan up and running ok, and McAfee are going to contact me direct regarding the Firewall. Please could you tell me whether the rest of my HIJACK LOG is ok. Regards Lynn

Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. It should have the [external image: Posted Image] icon next to it.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_09-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Other then that all looks good. :thumbup:
