To uninstall IncrediMail Xe

————————————————————————————————
Also, my computer is still acting funny at reboot. By funny, it acts like it's refreshing serveral times instead of just shutting down.
What all is running in the system tray at the bottom right corner of your computer screen
clock
volume control
virus program when it is installed
firewall program
??what else????
Please post a new HJT log for me to check.
The items on the bottom bar are avant browser, windows messenger not signed in, hp deskjet 5700 series, mouse, and send 404. If I remember correctly, Send 404 is some program my brother designed for his clients and had me add to my computer when I first got it. I don't remember what it's for, something to do with security. If I don't need it since I have all these other programs now maybe I should delete it. Please let me know.
I'm starting to get frazzled with all this computer stuff so I have printed out another hijack this log. I don't know if you want it or not but just in case here it is.

- Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
- The page will refresh.
- Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and save to your desktop.
[external image: Posted Image] - Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
- Click Start>Run type in appwiz.cpl and hit Enter. and remove all older versions of Java.
- Remove any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
- Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
- Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
- Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
- Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_09-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Thank you for the excellent directions. I was able to do everything. I have not installed the new java yet from my desktop. I will do that tomorrow. I found a Norton folder in my program files. Can I delete it. Also, I am still unable to post or now log in at the catdraggedinn forum. I thought maybe I should log out and then log back in but it did not do any good. Also, they have links of members' sites which now show up as red x's for me. Others are able to use the forum still. If you can help I would appreciate it. The admin at catdraggedinn designs and does the codes for wow forums. I don't know if that means anything or not but thought I would mention it.

This time I was able to find the items for the fix checked. I found all of them except the very first one of your list.
I wasn't able to install the java. This is the prompt that came up when I tried:
C:\Documents and Settings\Paula\Desktop\jre-1_5_0_09-windows-:586-p.exe is not a valid Win 32 application.
And I tried getting into the catdraggedinn forum again this morning but I wasn't able to.
My computer is refreshing itself fewer times when I reboot now. It seems to be settling down.

I just got home from work thanks for posting log.
This program send404 maybe causing some issues. If you are not using it I suggest uninstalling it. I have never had a problem updating java this way.
If you want to uninstall
Add/Remove Programs
- Click Start
- Go to Control Panel
- Go to Add/Remove Programs
- Find and click Remove for the following:
send404 - Reboot computer
If this still does not work then follow instuctions below.
But if it does work skip instructions and post a new HJTlog
Lets try getting java a little different since you have all ready uninstalled the old one.
The one you have on your desktop right click and choose delete dump that one.
You have been here before
- Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9
- Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9".
- Click the "Download" button to the right.
- Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
- The page will refresh.
- chooose this one this time and let it download (When ask to run or save) save exe file to your desktop)
[external image: Posted Image]
- Close all open windows
- double click on the jre-1_5_0_09-windows-i586-piftw.exe file you just downloaded it will start the installation just follow screen prompts menus.
- when it has finished installing reboot computer.
Please post another HJT log after installing Java.
I went to program files to delete send404. A prompt came up saying there was a problem and that some other program might be blocking the 404 from working. Or something like that. It asked if I wanted to remove its listing from program files and I clicked yes.
Next, I tried using the first java link, it was a no go. Tried the second link, it worked just fine. So java is now installed.
Here is the latest hijack this log:
