Hi I`ve cleaned up a machine which was badly infected as best I can using Avast Antivirus, Adaware SE, Trojan Remover, Windows Defender, Spybot Search and Destroy, Spyware Detector, Ewido, Trend Micro Antispyware and HijackThis.
It`s going rather well now but am still getting the odd Internet Explorer hijack towards www.winantivirus.com,www.globaladvertisingservices.info and popups like http://img.mediaplex.com which is very annoying when it happens.

I believe I am still infected with vundo/virtumonde as TrendMicro Antispyware alerts me very time on reboot to a file C:\WINNT\System32\mlllm.dll as a new BHO.

Spyware Detector lists in the BHO part of it`s programme 3 BHO`s, one of which refers to the aforementioned file and the other 2 which mention Vundo and Virtumonde.
When I Quarantine these 3 items the mlllm.dll file fails to Quarantine but the other 2 do and I can delete them.
However they all come back on reboot.

I`m running Windows XP Pro with XP 2 without further updates yet.

I have included my latest hijackThis log and would appreciate if anyone could have a look at it.
Thank you.

Welcome back morhey :wavey:

It's been a little over a year.

You have the Vundo infection that hides itself from HijackThis!

Let's see just what we're up against.

Rename:

C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe

To:

C:\Program Files\HijackThis\look.exe

Reboot, then run it and post a new log.

This will bring anything hiding out into the open where we can deal with it.
:)
Thanks,

Great to talk to you again.

I figured hijackThis was being affected.

I renamed it , rebooted and here is my log.

I guess I fix the 2 mlllm.dlls anyway?

Securing Your PC After An Attack
It seems pretty good now. My boot-up time seems to have improved at least by 50%. Could vundoo have been causing slow boot-up? I`m happy with it now I think.
Micah_6:8 thanks ever so much for that. I`m going to batten down the hatches now, secure it as best I can. Nice to chat with you again. morhey
