Recently I don't know why, my computer has gotten very very slow. When i click on the arrow that opens up the internet links, it takes about two minutes to show the sites. Everything lags and I don't know why. I used hijackthis and this is the log that i got.

The rest of your log looks fine

Lets do a few things…

If you don't want the Yahoo Toolbar, be sure to uncheck it during installation
Download and Install CCleaner
  • Click on Run Cleaner
  • Run the Issues Scan <—When it finishes with the Issues scan and you click on Remove, it will ask you want to back up what it removes, say YES
Tutorial for CCleaner

* Go to START/ CONTROL PANEL> PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE> REARRANGE ITEMS ON YOUR HARD DISK TO MAKE PROGRAMS RUN FASTER
This is the Windows Disk Defragger, run this maybe once or twice a month to keep your system running good. The first time you run it, it may take awhile.

Post back with a new HJT log and let me know if any of the above helped, if not it may be a windows issue and I can direct you to some windows support sites that deal with this sort of issue.
Thank you so much for responding! this is the new log that i got:

Jennie, :D

I am not looking at any malware on your log. You do have a lot of clutter starting when windows starts. Lets do a few things.

I need you to look these over , and disable just the ones you don't think you need. You can always restore the ones you want with HJT by opening HJT > View the List of Backups and restore the ones you want.

These have the option to convert asian textinto english.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IMJPMIG8.1] C:\WINDOWS\IME\imjp8_1\IMJPMIG.EXE /Spoil /RemAdvDef /Migration32

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PHIME2002A] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IME\TINTLGNT\TINTSETP.EXE /IMEName

These can all be run manully when you need them

  • Your Java is out of date and leaving your system vulnerable.
  • Go to your Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java (J2SE Runtime Environment)
  • It should have an icon next to it:
    [external image: Posted Image]
    Select it and click Remove.
  • Reboot your system.
  • Then go to the Sun Java website and download and install the update.
  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9 <–This is what you need to download and install.
  • Then after install you can verify your installation here Sun Java Verify

  • Click Start>Run
  • Type in sfc /scannow, hit Enter.
  • Note: there is a space between sfc and /scannow
  • This should replace any corrupted/missing system files and will hopefully fix things.
You may need your XP disc in your CD drive for this.

Close any instance of Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
  • Go to Start> Control Panel> Internet Options . You shoud be on the General Tab
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Files > and offline content as well
  • Then go to the Programs Tab and Reset Web Settings

Run this Blacklight program, its a quick scan that may pick up a bad program that is hidden on your system.

Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop:
  • Double-click blbeta.exe
  • Then accept the agreement
  • leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked.
  • Click > scan then > next
  • You'll see a list of all items found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers).
  • Copy and paste this log in your next reply.
  • Don't choose the rename option yet! I want to see the log first, because legitimate items can also be present there, such as "wbemtest.exe"

Let me see a report from Blacklight and a new HJT log.
