I got a virus that McAfee stopped and then it shut McAfee down and well then I got the Blue Screen of Death with the Error "Driver_irql_not_less_or equal" etc. the files listed at teh end of the dump are the ones that control my NIC.

So I surfed it up found your site from another computer as I can only run in Safe mode w/o Network on infected box, I have followed some of the similar post results but cannot get it to die.

I have used VUndo it finds ssqpcnom.dll but it can not delete it even on a reboot, so I tried to use Killbox and delete on restart. No luck

I ran Ewido this morning and it cleaned out a bunch of stuff but I forgot to save report. I just rescanned and got a clean report, it is below.

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Combofix.exe

Save it to your desktop. <— VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Go to Start –> Run and copy/paste in the following:

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /v ssqpnom

Then hit or click OK

When finished, it will produce a log for you.

Post that log in your next reply, along with a new HijackThis! log.

:)

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
Well it did something but as I watched it after windows restarted the cursor would switch back to hour glass well after most everything was loaded and then the McAfee icon by the clock would trun from red to black and virus scan would be disabled. It will not allow me to re-enable it.

Also I decided to try to reconnect to the network and as soon as Idid I got the same old BSOD that started this exercise.

Disable Microsoft Windows Defender:
We need to disable your Microsoft Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
  • Open Microsoft Windows Defender. Click Start, Programs, Windows Defender
  • Click on Tools, General Settings.
  • Under Real-time protection options, unselect the Turn on real-time protection check box
  • Click Save
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

Securing Your PC After An Attack
Windows start=up still took a long time, and McAfee starts out OK and then the hour glass comes on again and then Virusscan disables. I connected to internet and all was good no BSOD!!! YEAH did a McAfee update and all was good!! Now to get Windows SP2 re-installed So far all is great. You are amazing Thanks so very much for your help DRGill
I do see items from Symantec and McAfee in the log.

It's not recommended to run more than ONE antivirus and firewall.

That can be part of the long startup time.

If you need help removing anything, just ask.

I am glad we were able to help.

Thank you for choosing TomCoyote for your malware removal solutions.
