My husband had downloaded bittorrent to get some game, but it seemed to be the culprit in seriously screwing up the computer. I was unable to click on anything, and it seemed to have taken over the control panel and other areas. I was able to boot in safe mode and restore the computer, but never really found exactly what happened.

At this point, the computer seems to start up very slowly, and there is a start up entry, located in system32\server.exe……I have no idea what this is, but have run my virus scan, trend micro, spybot, and ewido with no major results, just some tracking cookies. I also am aware of the 007 Spy Software, this computer is in a remote area and it keeps the kids out of trouble.

Also, can McAfee be responsible for slowing the computer down? It's a free version through AOL but it doesn't seem to have done anything good, the computer has always been significantly slower since installing it. I'm wondering if it is a case of you get what you pay for and perhaps I should purchase something else.
