Micah_6:8 Thanks for taking the time to help people like me. Its very refreshing to know people still help people. I did everything you asked. The only file I didn't find to delete was c:\windows\system32\p2pnetworking.exe <— file. I didn't know if you go to safe mode you can delete things that normally windows wont let you. That is a very good thing to know. Here is the vundofix txt you ask me for: VundoFix V6.1.2 Checking Java version… Java version is 1.5.0.5 Scan started at 8:45:50 AM 8/27/2006 Listing files found while scanning…. Yes that would be great. I only use nortons and tried to delete mcAfee I am so happy to have found this forum. You guys are the greatest. I have been spreading the word and I am going to leave a donation for all you help. Thanks so much again :wavey:
To remove the McAfee items:

Copy the text in the following quote box into Notepad:

sc stop McDetect.exe
sc stop McTskshd.exe
sc stop mcupdmgr.exe
sc delete McDetect.exe
sc delete McTskshd.exe
sc delete mcupdmgr.exe

Save it to your desktop as ff.bat

Fix these with HijackThis!:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCUpdateExe] c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcupdate.exe

O23 - Service: McAfee WSC Integration (McDetect.exe) - McAfee, Inc - c:\program files\mcafee.com\agent\mcdetect.exe

O23 - Service: McAfee Task Scheduler (McTskshd.exe) - McAfee, Inc - c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mctskshd.exe

O23 - Service: McAfee SecurityCenter Update Manager (mcupdmgr.exe) - McAfee, Inc - C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\Agent\mcupdmgr.exe

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop.

A DOS window will open/close.

Reboot and make another log file to verify that McAfee is no longer present.

Thank you for choosing TomCoyote for your malware removal solutions.
