Trying to help a freind with this problem. He is running XP on a PIII Machine.
Using Talk Talk Braoadband, he can connect to the internet, but IE or Firefox (that I loaded) won't connect.
I have called Talk Talk and they suspect spyware, as they say the connecton drops immediately, though it still shows as connected on the desktop.
Further to this IE has a strange icon in the corner where I would expect to see a globe. This is in the form of blue sphere, with an orenge letter "C".
On top of this, I have discovered that:
Norton Ativirus won't launch it's application at all, though the Live Update will, but fails to update.
MS word/Excell/Publisher/Powerpoint, will create files, but won't open them again, saying that the file is unavailable (these files open Ok in another PC)
Because I can't update antivirus/Spyware without an internet connection. Can you find anything suspiciou in this Hijack This Log?
Many thanks in antisipation.
