Hello Folks
My computer is really slow to do anything. In task manager, explorer.exe seems to be using 100% of the CPU. Here is a HighjackThis logfile. I do need:
Adobe Acrobat to make PDFs
Frontpage

CA Virus Scan and Adaware are not showing any issues.

Symantec was uninstalled but I still see Symantec processes running??
MywaySA looks VERY SUSPECT!!! Any ideas on that one??

Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Welcome to the forum.

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:
Automatic LiveUpdate Scheduler

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you don´t find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

Download and run this uninstaller:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits…Uninstaller.exe

————————————–

Download/Install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9…1bd/msicuu2.exe
Install the program, then start it. Look for the Myway Search Assistant entry, highlight it and click the "Remove" button. That should remove the entry in Add/Remove

———————

Download and run ATF Cleaner - hit "select all" then just uncheck "cookies" (uncheck cookies is optional - leave it checked if you want to delete all cookies) then "empty selected" That will clear out all the temp files on the system.

—————————-

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running - Click Scan and…..
