Welcome to the forum :wavey:

I want to check some things before beginning any cleaning operations.

Run Hijack This!.

Click on Open Misc Tools section

To the right of Generate Startuplist log, there are two boxes.

Check them both, then click Generate Startuplist log.

"Copy/paste" the startuplist log into this thread.
:)

Thank you for helping me out, Micah! :)

I am still getting the "wininet.dll file is not found" error message. Also, I can access the "search" option on my start menu, which I had never been able to do before. (Weird?) It used to tell me that the feature wasn't installed or something….

Here is my new log file:

Could you not remove "Starware" via "Add/Remove Programs" ?
I see it in the log still……

Copy the text in the following quote box into Notepad:

dir c:\WINDOWS\wininet.* /s > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Save it to your desktop as ff.bat

CLOSE NOTEPAD!!!

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop.

A Notepad window will open up.

Please paste it's contents into your next post.
