i am operating from my compaq presario 5000 series with:
256mb ram
40gb HD
1.0GHZ processor
windows xp sp2
dial-up connection

Now after my last post i ran pretty well up till recently. However, recently i have experienced slow connection speeds(as low as 14.0kbps), freezeups, webpages taking ages to load(gamespot takes about 5 mins), and constant DNS errors("your computer seems to be unable to resolve DNS"). I use my dvd burner alot and to do this i have to copy stuff to my hard-drive, so much that my hard drive was almost filled last time.I use CCcleaner, spybot search and destroy, etc. I've checked my internet settings and have restored them to default and attempted to adjust the security settings to low to alleviate the problem.Nothing seems to work and it's just getting worse and worse.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE KINDLY HELP ME?
THANK YOU.
Delete the present hijackthis on your system as it is an older version.

Download hijackthis 1.99.1 to its own folder C:/HJT for example. Extrat the zip file to that folder. Then close all browser windows, open hijackthis and click on scan. Once the scan has completed click on Save Log, this will produce a text file log. Highlight all of the information from in that text box then right click and copy. Come back to this post you made and click on "add reply" at the bottom right and a new window will open. Paste the hijackthis log into the new window hit add reply in that new window.
