I've got a real problem that maybe someone can help me with. Something keeps deleting my keyboard driver files. I have an HP Pavillion. Originally the HP PS2 keyboard driver disappeared from my hard drive and device manager along with all of the default information about keyboards on my system. I bought a Logictech PS2 keyboard and it operated okay until I had to change out my power supply. When I rebooted after changing the power supply the driver for the Logictech keyboard was gone and I could not reinstall it from the disk. I just went out and bought another keyboard with a USB connector, installed it and this keyboard is working fine for now. Here is the HJT file. Can you see anything that might cause the keyboard drivers to be deleted?
Thanks

Hi Micah,
I ran another scan and here is the HJT log. In the meantime, my CPU fan went out and I had to replace. The PC powered off about 30 times but now seems to be working okay. The DMCPL.EXE file was not present. Thanks.

The log looks good.

One question…..

You have AVG antivirus installed.

So this:

O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Auto Protect Service (navapsvc) - Symantec Corporation - c:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe

Must be a "leftover" from a Norton uninstall?

If so, this is how to remove it:

Fix this with HijackThis!:

O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Auto Protect Service (navapsvc) - Symantec Corporation - c:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe

Copy the text in the following quote box into Notepad:

sc stop navapsvc
sc delete navapsvc

Save it to your desktop as ff.bat

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop. A DOS window will briefly open, then close.

Reboot and make another log file to be sure it's gone.

Thank you for choosing TomCoyote for your malware removal solutions.
