Hi Im new to this whole thing and I have a major dilemma. Yesterday, all I did was check out this website my friend told me about (www.bleachportal.net) and all of a sudden I have all these pop-ups about "virus scans" then this program, Brave..something automatically installs itself and my background(the default background for windows XP) disappears! I ran Hijackthis! and this is what I get…

like my computer is better from before but there are still some gliches in the system so I just need 2 know what steps to take now.
thank you
Important: Do this before any fix.

Please put your HijackThis in it's own folder, (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT).
You can do a Right Click on any open area on the desktop, New> Folder, then rename the folder HJT.

Go to where your HijackThis is and Right Click on HijackThis.exe, select Cut, then open the new folder you just created (HJT) Right Click in the folder and select paste.

The reason we do this is Hijackthis creates backup files just in case you'd need to restore one and we'll be cleaning out the temp files.

After the above:

Please download Qoofix by RubbeR DuckY from one of the following locations:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/Qoofix.zip or
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/Qoofix.zip
  • Unzip all files to a convenient location such as C:\Qoofix.
  • Go to the folder you unzipped all files and run Qoofix.exe.
  • Click Begin Removal and wait for the scan to finish.
  • If an infection has been found, select yes to restart your computer.

Finally post a new Hijack This log and the contents of the Qoofix logfile.
Hello. sorry once again I went on vacation. but I did everything u said and here is the HijackThis! log:

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. It will create a file named:
c:\rapport.txt

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:
C:\rapport.txt
