The latest version out is jre1.5.0_07

After updating you must remove previous versions via "Add/Remove Programs".

Securing Your PC After An Attack

thank you so much for this, my pc feels so much faster now. Before I would boot up then for at least 5 minutes couldn't do anything with it. Updating java as I type. I shall recommend this site to anyone who has malware/spyware/adware/flat tyres in the future.
