Hello all,

Recently I went to the wrong website and downloaded and ran an app that I thought was something I was looking for (obviously it wasn't  ). Anyway, one thing led to another, I got some nasty trojans and malwares intrusion. "What another dumb rear", you might say, but please help.

I have done according to the suggestion by LDTate by doing the 'Before Posting A HijackThis Log "Self Help" For Windows 2000 and XP Versions', i.e. Run Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido anti-malware, etc. After all the steps, I ran HijackThis 1.99. Below pls find the log files for Ewido and HijackThis.

My notebook seems work ok until I connect to the internet and open IE. IE keeps redirect me to www.topsecuritysite.com.

I didn't dare to continue further to avoid more infection, etc. So I use my work notebook to come here and post...

Hello Stan and welcome to TomCoyote forum. HJT needs it own folder, please move it here: C:\HJT\HijackThis 1.99.exe

This is the Smitfraud trojan, please follow the directions.
Thanks to S!Ri, Trevuren and any others who helped with the fix.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other option until you are directed to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Thanks...pskelley
