Parent's HP Pavilion PC was freaking out. They keep getting a pop up from "Messenger Service". Says the following:

Message from SECURITY to ALERT on 5/22/2006 12:41:06 AM (or whatever time it is at the moment…)

STOP!
SCAN CRITICAL SYSTEM ERRORS

To fix the errors please do the following:
1. Donwload REgistry Repair from: http://www.regwinrepair.com
2. Install Registry Repair
3. Run Registry Repair
4. Reboot your computer
FAILURE TO ACT NOW MAY LEAD TO DATA LOSS AND CORRUPTION!

What a bogus piece of carp**…nonetheless….they'll get a hundred of these similar pop ups over the span of an hour or so. Some point to WindowsRepair.net, etc…….

Here's what I did so far…

1. Installed AdAware PE–ran updates, then ran software. cleaned out some stuff.
2. Installed SpyBot S&D–ran updates, then ran software. cleaned out some stuff.
3. Installed Spyware Blaster—ran update, yadda yadda
4. Installed Spyware Guard–updated and activated where applicable

-and FINALLY-

5. Installed HijackThis–ran and created log file, listed below…any advice guys? Thanks!!!!

-Jasper
