Hey fellas lately my computer doesn't shuts down. The "Computer is shutting down" screen comes up but nothing happens. So I have to hold the power button on my pc to shut it down everytime. It also doesn't restart. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
"Using Event Viewer

Event Viewer maintains logs about program, security, and system events on your computer. You can use Event Viewer to view and manage the event logs, gather information about hardware and software problems, and monitor Windows security events.

Open Event Viewer

Note
•To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.
•For information about using Event Viewer, in Event Viewer, on the Action menu, click Help.
•For more information, click Related Topics. "

The above info doesn't tell me what my problem is or how to fix it.
Heres a different link that's more descriptive…
How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
When you have event viewer open…..to the left will be 3 different log areas…
Application log
Security log
System log
Click on one…..and to the right a window will show recorded events……..normal activity and errors….indicated by small icons.
right click on an error icon and click on properties…..This will open another small window and most of the time will have a support link located at the bottom of that window.
Click on the support link and it will ask if you want to send an error report click yes.
And usually a Microsoft window will open and offer suggestions and help links.

Ok under Application and System there were many errors. To look into each one of their properties and then click on support link which opens up a page of info on each error is tremendous amount of work :rant2: I would have to be a computer wizz to figure out how to fix these errors. This is worse than having to get rid of spyware and viruses.
