I ran kaspersky online and It found 15 infected results and 1 virus. I also ran ewido in safe mode with 0 results and adaware while in safemode. I also ran spybot and NIS 2006 in regular mode with 0 results. It could be nothing, but I want to be safe. Thank you in advance.

Hi MrCharlie, Thank you for you reply. The Kaspersky online scan only detects and will not remove a virus right? If the virus is gone now, I don't know what got rid of it. In the online scan, did it just detect my multiple downloads of ccleaner as a virus spreading? Im a bit of a novice and Im just a little apprehensive in deleting my restore points. I can understand why I need to delete them from the online scanner results, but I hate to If I don't need to. Sorry to be a pain :( Thanks, blueshark

Yes Kaspersky only finds the malware it doesn't delete anything.

You have a lot of false positives and these are what's in system restore:

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{D23EFF2A-BFEF-46A5-8364-D064E372DF2B}\RP179\A0022066.exe/stream/data0006 Infected: not-a-virus:RiskTool.Win32.PsKill.n skipped

What you can do is run Ewido Security Suite in safe mode and if there's any malware in your system restore it will clean it, this way you can leave your system restore alone.

Here's how it goes……….

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
3. From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
5. Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

6. Reboot into safe mode
You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

7. Run Ewido Security Suite — Do a "Complete System Scan"
Let it clean all files
8. Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report Click Save report. Save the report .txt file to your desktop.

Tutorial if needed

Reboot and post the log from Ewido Security Suite, MrC
Hi again MrCharlie, Thanks for the advice. I did what you said and everything looks ok. My log is below. Again thank you for your time and knowledge. Don't open e-mail attachments without first scanning them with an up-to-date
anti virus program, even after doing that I would be very careful. Don't click on any executables in e-mails or any other links that you're not sure of.
Watch your surfing habits, don't click on or download anything you're not sure of. Don't install a program that hasn't been recommended by a reputable organization.
