Welcome to the forum.

Please move HJT into its own permanent folder so backups can be made and found.
example: C:\MyHJT\HJT.exe, C:\Program Files\MYHJT\HJT.exe or C:\MyDocuments\MyHJT\HJT.exe

Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK" (reverse this procedure when we are done)


Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop. Don't run it yet!

Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:
Secure HTTP

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you don´t find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running - Click Scan and.....
Place a check against the following items:

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Go to start > run and copy and paste next command in the field:
sc delete Secure HTTP

Click Ok.

Delete this file if found:
C:\WINDOWS\csrvs.exe


Now..........

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.

Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a fresh HiJackThis log , MrC

Looks Better!

Please go to your control panels add/remove programs and uninstall Spyware Cleaner, it's not a recommended program to have on your system. It's a Spyware remover of dubious repute.

You also have Viewpoint Manager:

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.co...cle.php/3561546

I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start> Settings > Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.

• Viewpoint
• Viewpoint Manager
• Viewpoint Media Player

If you uninstall these- please post a fresh HJT log to clean up any leftover entries.

The Spyware Cleaner was not in there. I had previously uninstalled it. Should it still show up? One question, how do you keep these things from getting on in the first place?

If Spyware Cleaner is gone just do this.....

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running - Click Scan and.....
Place a check against the following items:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Cleaner] "C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SpywareCleaner.Exe" /boot

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Delete this folder if found:

C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner

Don't open e-mail attachments without first scanning them with an up-to-date
anti virus program, even after doing that I would be very careful. Don't click on any executables in e-mails or any other links that you're not sure of.
Watch your surfing habits, don't click on or download anything you're not sure of. Don't install a program that hasn't been recommended by a reputable organization.
