SpywareQuake is killing me. I've tried some of the free virus/spyware hunters, but none of them can get rid of it permanently. I'm willing to pay for one that works, but I just want to know which one first. Xoft? Webroot? I have no idea. Anyway, here's the HJT log.

This is probably above and beyond the call, but every time I try it my computer restarts itself. I think it might be the smitRem trying to run with some of the anti-spyware stuff I've tried lately. Maybe? I'll try to shut it off and then try again.

Panda is still detecting tons of stuff. I'm waiting for it to finish, then I'll post another log. I'm also going over the steps in the link you suggested to see if I did something wrong or missed a step somewhere. Would reinstalling the OS before I started the process help at all? Just in case I did something I wasn't supposed to do in trying to get rid of the spyware myself.

The Kaspersky scan won't progress past about 8%. The computer stalls for a while and then reboots automatically at that point. When I manually rebooted it said Windows couldn't start because ntoskrnl.exe is missing. I don't know much about this stuff, but I'm pretty sure that's bad. How many problems can I possibly have?

Found it. Do I need to reinstall the OS? Is there something I should do before I do that, file backup-wise?

The machine is running much better now. I don't know if everything is gone or not, or if I need to reinstall the OS, but it's usable, and performing a little faster than before even. Once in a while it still shuts itself down thoguh. Thanks a ton for all the help.
