I installed XP on a test VirtualPC to test and keep more current with spyware problems( I am Tom Coyote of TomCoyote.org and an MVP in windows security). During trying to update this copy it has taken a lot of time and effort with the new version of this and that, then I come across this last one that says I must activate this copy before I can get the latest updates. Now this distresses me more than just having to activate before I am ready, it tells me that there are going to be thousands or more of Windows installations that will never be updated and continue to pose threats on the internet beyond those computers as they will be used with spambots and other internal hacks that hackers use to control insecure PC's out in the wild.
Therefore my concern is that even valid Windows users will be affected by your strongarm policy occuring now on WindowsUpdates.
I like Microsoft products, used them since Win95A, so that is not why I am writing this, it is to let you know the feeling of many security experts out here on the internet.

<Pet Peeve: there appears to be the assumption of a broadband connection as illustrated with Windows One Care Live and Windows Defender's default setup to update at startup.>

To Whom will actually take the time to read:
I would really like someone to read my original "problem" described in this email, I am not accustomed to being ignored in the text that I present in so careful a manner as to give the whole situation and why my reasoning for the text in the first place, this is not a support issue personally for me, but for the entire health of the Internet system in place in which we all use.
