Hey guys. I just stumbled onto this forum tonight, and it looks like a very promising option for me...

A few days ago I was trying to find a key generator for a game and I accidentally downloaded some pretty bad stuff (apparently), because I've been paying the price ever since. I noticed that when whatever it was was installing, a DOS prompt came up and disappeared quickly, and I have no idea what it did. I've never goofed up like this before, and I've run Adaware and Windows Defender to try and fix the problem, to no avail. On restart, Windows Defender usually picks up between 1 and 3 new things to get rid of, but they always come back. And the popups are ridiculous. Also, tonight my internet wasn't connecting properly, so I ended up having to do one of those "netsh winsock reset" things to fix it... Not sure if this problem was responsible, but it's never done anything like that before.

If any of you would be kind enough to help me, I'd would appreciate it tremendously.

hi weenie,

yea, you got some nasties. those keygens/cracks etc are mostly nothing but trojans.

ok first go out and grab the free trial of ewido. install.update but dont run it yet, we will do that in safe mode, after we use hjt. while you are out check for updates to windows defender and ad aware, we will run them in safe mode also

first:
1. Download Ewido and install
Ewido anti malware. It is a free trial version of the program:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

2. Install ewido anti malware
3. Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
4. The program will now go to the main screen

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.

1. On the left hand side of the main screen click update
2. Then click on Start Update

The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use Ewido manual updates

after updating, close ewido. next we will use hjt, then boot into safe mode.
--------------------------------------------------------

scan with HJT, put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click fix checked.

Hey shelf life :) Thanks! Everything went smoothly, except when I went to restart in safe mode I missed my opportunity and it rebooted, but then when I tried again I got it. Also, after I was done with safe mode I was doing some of the other scans and at some point my computer bluescreened and did some "beginning dump of physical memory" or something... Let me know what you think, and again, thank you - I should be much quicker at posting next time.

hi weenie,

ok looking better still got some nasties-- i dont see a antivirus application. if you need one go here;
download and update and scan your computer with it (AVG free edition):
check for updates to ewido and window defenders also

AVG:

http://free.grisoft....2/lng/us/tpl/v5
--------------------------------
after you scan with AVG run hjt and fix these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vlyahukA] C:\WINDOWS\vlyahukA.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dyeldyjA] C:\WINDOWS\dyeldyjA.exe

then scan with ewido and window defenders again
-------------------------
reboot and rescan with hjt and post anew log
How Can I Reduce My Risk?

Mmmkay - When I restarted, my computer did one of those file check up things where it makes sure everything's okay, I think it was with a bluescreen, but my computer does that quite a bit, so it's no surprise.

Then when Windows got back up, I had two error messages - something like, "error loading w365eb3f.dll - specified module could not be found" - and the other was the same, but for w2f80759.dll.

Ewido picked something up and cleaned it, but I didn't get a log of it or write it down.

I did have Norton until about 2 weeks ago, when my ISP's customer service told me to uninstall it because it was probably keeping me from connecting to the internet - they were wrong. But I installed the one you directed me to - thanks!

And... I have more weird/bad stuff to report. Last night everything started running really slow, and pretty soon it bluescreened - another "physical memory dump" - and then when it went to restart, it gave me something like ... "Broadcom... media test failure... check false (I can't read my own writing, check something)... operating system not found... PXE-MOF: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM"... Tried rebooting, same thing. Then tried to reboot in safe mode, and it got as far as giving me the list of all that running stuff (or whatever it is) in DOS- I let it try to get to safe mode for probably about 4 hours, and nothing had changed from that DOS screen when I came back. Restarted again, this time it asked to check the disk - first time I declined, and it wouldn't move forward into Windows. Restarted again, asked for disk check - let it do its thing, found one file to truncate - "first allocation unit not valid" ... it was a temporary internet file with a .js extension - does this type of thing all the time, plus sometimes it says files are cross-linked... but then it restarted to Windows. Then I got 4 RUNDLL errors - don't know if they matter, but they are w075d25b, w007e38b, w2f80759, and w365eb3f. Windows defender picked up a couple things, and so did AVG, and so did ewido. Most of them were called "BookedSpace"... What's the deal here? I think my computer's gonna explode...

Alright - did that uninstaller thing, and on restart, these were the messed up RUNDLL's:

w075d25b
w0777c01
w0405620
w008eb84
w007e38b
w2f80759
w325eb3f

Don't know if those are of use or ever will be, but I figured I would try :)
And ewido picked up this infection:

w002edfc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32
Downloader.Agent.ahv

Here is the new HJT log - and thank you!:

Ok, I did all that except the last thing - the dllhost.exe. I didn't know for sure what you wanted, so I figured I'd err on the side of caution.

In C:\Documents and Settings\Karly ... \ Application Data, the only folder like that is "System32"
In System32, there is only one folder, "YSTEM~2", which contains nothing.

When I did a search for "dllhost" I got 4 things -

DLLHost in C:\I386 3 kb EX_File
dllhost in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 5kb Application
DLLHOST.EXE-4CE1D822.pf in C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch 19kb PF File
dllhost in C:\WINDOWS\Servic Pack FIles\i386 5kb Application

But didn't know which one you wanted me to delete, so I didn't do anything about that yet.

On the restart, I had 2 more dll errors - w0077879.dll and w03a47a8.dll.
Ewido also picked up infected W07140e6.dll in System32 called Downloader.Agent.ahv.

hi weenie,

ok before we go farther, no harm in trying spybot search and destroy and or ad aware. either one of these may do the trick.
download, install update and run them one at a time:
---------------------------------------------------
spybot search and destroy download links:

http://www.safer-net...load/index.html

this is old, but might help:

Install the program and launch it.

Go to Start > Programs >Spybot > Search & Destroy and choose Spybot S&D

Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
Click the button to "Search for Updates" and download and install the Updates.
Next click the button "Check for Problems"
When Spybot is complete, it will be showing "RED" (RED) entries "BLACK" entries and "GREEN" (GREEN) entries in the window
Put a check mark beside the RED (RED) entries ONLY.
Choose "Fix Selected Problems" and allow Spybot to fix the RED (RED) entries.
---------------------------------------------------
ad aware:

http://www.lavasoftu...ftware/adaware/

also old:
Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform full system scan.
Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)
--------------------------------------------------
run those, reboot once rescan and post anew hjt log
How Can I Reduce My Risk?

hi weenie,

the stuff just wont die. lets try pocket killbox to unregister the dlls and delete them, we will do it all in safe mode.

before you start hit ctrl-alt-delete keys to bring up task manager
under process or the app tab see if you see something like this running: (random numbers, few letters)
running: if so let me know:
I2 0000784a003a47a8
--------------------------------------
ok time to download pocket killbox:

http://www.bleepingc...les/killbox.php

there is another link to the download from there, its a zip file. extract it to your desktop, it will show up as a big red X
---------------
ok what we are going to do is copy/paste each of the following .dlls in to pocket kill box, but we need the path to the dlls, iam guessing C:Windows\System32 dir, you could do a search for them to be sure, or assume they are in the system32 dir.
------------------------------------------
i would copy the rest of this to notepad and save it somewhere like the desktop so you can read it in safe mode

ok the list of dlls:

w03a47a8.dll
w07140e6.dll
w0077879.dll
w03d6cd6.dll
w077a121.dll
Runner.dll

ok launch killbox by clicking the icon on your desktop.

Paste the filenames (below) into KILL BOX one at a time. Check the box that says "Delete on Reboot" and check the box "Unregister DLL" Click the RED X and it will ask you to confirm the file for deletion…say YES and when the next box opens prompting you to reboot now...click NO...and proceed with the next file. Once you get to the last one click YES and it will reboot.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\w03a47a8.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\w07140e6.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\w0077879.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\w03d6cd6.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\w077a121.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Runner.dll

iam assuming these are all in the system32 folder, if you find otherwise just use that path like C:\WINDOWS or whatever it is
------------------------------------------
after the reboot run ewido then rescan (cross fingers) with hjt and post a new log...........
How Can I Reduce My Risk?

I downloaded the KillBox thing, but when I run a search for any of those DLL's (with the exception of that runner one), I can't find them anywhere... I even checked to search in hidden folders... suggestions?
