I have my ewido scanner turned off but it's been so long I forget how I did it.

you may want to benefit from the realtime protection until the trial is over? Your call.
Here they are running in services:

O23 - Service: ewido security suite control - ewido networks - C:\Program Files\ewido anti-malware\ewidoctrl.exe
O23 - Service: ewido security suite guard - ewido networks - C:\Program Files\ewido anti-malware\ewidoguard.exe

I checked my computer and I have the ewido security suites set to disabled and I can still run the scan manually from a shortcut on my Desktop.
So use the same method you did earlier with the bad service:

Disable the Service
Click Start > Run and type services.msc
Scroll down to (ewido here) and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

ewido security suite control <<< you may have two items to disable
ewido security suite guard

or you may have one: ewido security suite <<< like I did

Once it has be disabled you should not see it in the HJT log unless you are running ewido at the same time you scan for a log.

As I said, you may wait until the trial is over before you do this is you want, once that is over there is no reason to let it use your resources unless you own it.

Hope this helps...Phil

I may just wait and see how it does for a few days before I decide to turn it off. I hate to bother you again, but one more question, please. How/where do I go to find the yahoo quarantine folder? I have looked in several places but can't locate it?

Hi Elynn, let's take a look at that pathway: C:\Program Files\ <<< open Yahoo!\ <<< open YPSR\ <<< open Quarantine\ <<< open and delete the contects Now that is where it is supposed to be. It may be hidden, so you may need to enable hidden files and folders: Double click my computers & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders" Click "Apply" then "OK" Hope that helps.
