Recently, there's this pop-up informing me that my comp has been infected and that i need the latest antispyware programs to remove it. After running AdAware and Spybot S&D, it appeared to be removed but once i restart my comp it comes back again.

I've been to a number of forums and it seems that i have to get HijackThis (i have no idea what this is; can someone help? :() and post a log here so the wonderful people here can help me.

I think the problem here is the program NCJ.exe which refuses to be deleted  and i can't do anything about it. SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

Tell me everything i have to do! Thanks!!

When searching for your problem I find a number of references to using Ewido to remove.
They have a free trial HERE

You may need to go in through safe mode and run ewido.

Windows 2000 / XP Users

To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Trouble Getting into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe mode - If after several attempts you are unable to get into Windows 2000 or Windows XP safe mode as the computer is booting into Windows, turn off your computer. When the computer is turned on the next time Windows should notice that the computer did not successfully boot and give you the safe mode screen.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

You can always download Hijackthis, run a scan and post the log in the proper spot on these forums.

1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' and name the folder 'Hijack This'.

2. Download Hijackthis to the new folder from this website: http:/www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/

3. Double Click on 'HijackThis.zip' to extract and install HijackThis.exe to the new folder.

4. SCAN with HJT and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')

5. POST the log in the appropiate spot in these forums.
