I need help. :(
My computer has been infected by icannnews, look2me etc...
I regularly run Ad-Aware, Spybot, Antispyware.
Recently I had a malware which Ad-Aware could not remove. I tried with Spysweeper and there I have a long list with attacks.
I have run the logfile of Hijackthis and I have an image of the malware detected by Spysweeper.
Can anybody help me.
Thanks a lot.
Eric

Hello ericjan, welcome to the TC Forum

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

The forum is run by volunteers who donate their time and expertise.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the desktop icons dont dissappear or the log does not pop up then in the l2mfix folder double click the second.bat file to continue with the fix.

Dear Sir,

everything went as predicted !
Just before rebooting there was a message in the dos prompt window from l2mfix.
It said: fix the missing file 020 with Hijackthis.

This is the log file:

Do you know what this one is? If not, add to the fix below.
O16 - DPF: Dexia netbanking - http://netbanking.de...t//DexiaIIA.cab

I suggest you do this:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O16 - DPF: {31B7EB4E-8B4B-11D1-A789-00A0CC6651A8} (Cult3D ActiveX Player) - http://www.cult3d.co...wnload/cult.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Applets - D:\WINDOWS\system32\o6pqlg7516.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: RunServices - D:\WINDOWS\system32\m628lgfu1628.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WindowsUpdate - D:\WINDOWS\system32\ir2ml5f11.dll (file missing)

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Delete these Files if listed:
D:\WINDOWS\system32\o6pqlg7516.dll
D:\WINDOWS\system32\m628lgfu1628.dll
D:\WINDOWS\system32\ir2ml5f11.dll

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove.
Check all boxes except compress old files (If listed)
7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

The forum is run by volunteers who donate their time and expertise.

Dear Sir,

there seems to be the following changes
a) before I had a small popup telling me that "the system is unable to switch because server is not available" or something like that. This popup does not appear anymore.
B) When opening Internet I had a permanent try of intrusion from a server called "a-d-a-w-a-r-e.com".
This intrusions were blocked by Spysweeper, but it slowed down the access time.
It seems also that this is gone.

For the rest, I have to check.
I still have a small problem with my task bar.
On the left side I had stored around 10 quick access icones (one click).
These have been erased yesterday (I think by a worm or a malware).
Altough the taskbar is not blocked, I still cannot insert a copy of an icone in the task bar.
It's not a catastrophe, but if repaired it will be nice.

Thank you for your help.
Could you tell ma also if "Spybot + Ad-aware + the shield (no subscription) of Spysweeper + Norton Antivirus autoprotect + MS Antispyware" is sufficient, or do you recommend me something else.

Here is the log file.

Thanks

Eric. (from Belgium)

I still have a small problem with my task bar.
On the left side I had stored around 10 quick access icones (one click).
These have been erased yesterday (I think by a worm or a malware).
Altough the taskbar is not blocked, I still cannot insert a copy of an icone in the task bar.

In the Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Did that fix it? If not, we can try a couple more things.

Download and run this REG fix and double-click it.

Let it merge.

The program has inserted things in the registry. I had messages from MS Spyware and from SpySweeper to allow this. I agreeded. But still, no possibility to insert icones in the task bar. What's next ?

Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

still no change. What's next ? By the way, I loaded and installed SpywareBlaster. I hope I did nothing wrong. I suppose I should "allow" that this program changes the security checks? About the task bar, it is "as if" the small handle (which you normally can move to the right when you want to add new icones (made of 2 vertical dot lines with 5 and 4 dots) remains always blocked at the left side. What's next ?

Try a Right Click on the task bar and see if it's locked
