My computer is taking forever to open programs and some programs are not functioning correctly.
Some programs do not close correctly also and I have to end them from the CTRL,ALT,DELETE fuction.
I think it's a registry problem. Please help!

i tried downloading hijack-this but it wanted $20.00 just to do anything aside from scanning and i didn't want to buy it unless i needed so please let me know whenever you can. thanks!
My computer is taking forever to open programs and some programs are not functioning correctly.
To suggest some basic things, firstly make sure the system is free from Spyware. Adaware and also Spybot can be run and fix the nasties found. Hope you also run an Antivirus and Firewall.
Next disable unnecessary items from loading at boot. ( Start> Run> MsConfig) here's a startup list guide that will help u decide what to keep/ or you can google for the entries.

How much RAM you running on? 256 or more is needed for XP. 512 would be good.
If you havent already, you can also do some cleaning up ( disk clean up- delete the temporary files, recycle bin files, temporary internet files) and run chkdsk and defragment for improvement in boot.
