Hello:

My computer has been running very slowly. I am not sure if it is due to malware or to hardware. My system utility shows CPU usage at 100% all the time, with 94 to 98% of that used by explorer.exe. In safe mode, the CPU usage sits at 3% or less. It does not change when I kill all processes running under explorer.exe. A friend had suggested Spysweeper, so I ran that and it found traces and removed them. No change. I thought that the CPU was processing video output, so I reinstalled the video drivers to no avail. I have plenty of swap space on the drive and have recently de-fragged it. Perhaps you can help.

I'm sorry to bother you all. I checked the error log and saw several related to IE, and got the idea to reinstall the upgrade to Ver 6. I'm happy to report that my CPU is running at 4% capacity. You can close this thread.

You should post a new log as you may have a trojan in there .

You need an updated version of Hijackthis which you can get from HERE.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Download win32delfkil.exe.
Save it on your desktop.
Double click on win32delfkil.exe and install it. This creates a new folder on your desktop: win32delfkil.
Close all windows, open the win32delfkil folder and double click on fix.bat.
The computer will reboot automatically. If not please restart manually
Post the contents of the logfile c\windelf.txt, along with a new hijackhislog.
