Having problems with a laptop. My friend let his daughter use and she installed limewire, and who knows where she surfed to. He is getting poker and adult popups now all the time in IE. Ran spybot and adaware both they did not fix the issue. Seems the "master site" the comp likes is waba.com.... well at least the IP for that site. No toolbars are installed either. But icons do show up on the desktop and items are being added to his favorites. The stuff in favorites are not even in the favorites when you go to his profile in XP and I cannot remove them. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

To tell you the truth, I do not see much in this log. I do see the evidence of a LOP/C2 Media infection that occurs when C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe is installed with the sponsor programs and this could well be the cause of your problems. I Googled the waba.com and it returned to here: www.wabasoft.com/ This stuff often hides from HJT and additional tools are needed to locate and remove it. Before we move to that, I will give you instructions for removing the item that installs LOP. Once you complete that process, post a new log and give me as much information about the status at that point as you feel is relevant. I will clean out the remnants of LOP and we can decide if we need to do more at that point.

That seemed to work! Thank you very much. Messenger Plus! was installed on the PC. I have seen installed before but never with the "sponsor program." I think my friend was a bit embarrassed since he had his laptop at a meeting and stuff kept happening. I think his daughter is going to get a good talking to. I should send her a bill for a $100 bucks and that might keep her from thingking about installing more stuff on his pc. HA. Thanks again! Have a great day!

I strongly suggest you follow those instructions because all of LOP usually does not go that easy and HJT is require to remove the leftovers. Since I am a volunteer, you have my word there will be no additional charge for this service.

No response to the request for a final look at LOP.
Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
