Hello and welcome to TomCoyote forums. Are you having any problems? I see little in the log, but you have chosen to show me a log that is running in Selective Startup mode in MSConfig. I need to see the log in Normal mode to see everything.

You have also chosen to call the folder you store HJT.exe, logs and backups in "Downloads" and that is fine as long as you intend to store only HJT related in that folder. If you need it for other downloads, move HJT to here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe.

As I said, I don't see much, but I would be glad to look at another log to be sure if you will post it with Normal startup in MSConfig.

Thanks...pskelley

Ok.. thanks I restarted it in normal mode. I had changed the location of the HJT file already.
Thanks for replying!

Let me say if a DPF ActiveX is removed you get a prompt to download it again if you visit the site. These may be good, but I will let you make that call. Remove with HJT any 016 DPF you no longer use or do not know what is.

This may be valid for your ISP and I suggest you ask them. I can't get satisfied with the results I am getting which you can see here: http://www.whois.sc/192.168.2.1 It may be valid, but I just don't like the looks of it, your ISP will know.

Since you have no obvious malware, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

If you have any reason you believe we should look for anything HJT can not see, let me know. Otherwise you are good to go.

Safe surfing...Phil

Hey thanks a lot for the info. I try to keep my PC safe and clean. I heard of this site and the HJT software and thought I would give it a go. The only problem I am having I posted on a thread titled CDilla. I posted that after I posted this, and had discovered some information regarding cdilla, and of coarse seeing it in the HJT list. I recently aquired CDIlla after installing new software. Spybot picked it up as spyware and I removed it. Later I then went and unistalled it. But I see that the driver is still installed and my cdwriter no longer works at all. Could it be a problem. Here the log from hjt. Cdilla driver and info still shows up. Should I delete these? Can I get rid of the driver? Thanks for your responses!

Keep in mind as good a free program as Spybot is, it is not always going to be right. If a mistake is made you can override the instructions from within the program so it will not notify you about a valid item again. I hope this helps.

Here is what I am finding:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXE
O23 - Service: C-DillaSrv - C-Dilla Ltd - C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXE
http://castlecops.co...ANTSRV_exe.html
C-DillaSrv L CDANTSRV.EXE C-Dilla License Management software from MacroVison

http://www.google.co.....=CDANTSRV.EXE

As far as I can see there is nothing wrong with this program. I will say I would not have it on any of my computers.

If you want instructions for removing it let me know. Please state exactly what you want since it is a valid program.

Thanks...Phil

Yes, I don't want this on my computer either. I checked out cdilla before allowing spybot to remove it. But by the looks of things there is still traces of it left behind, and the fact that my cdwriter isn't working at the moment is too coincedental for me. Please tell me how to rid of it. Thanks so phil much! :-)

That may have been your problem, you probably should have removed it with the programs uninstaller. Since I do not usually remove valid programs I want to proceed slowly and will need a little feedback from you as we proceed. We will be moving the stuff to the recycle bin and leaving it there for a few days to make sure everything functions with the removal. Sometimes the recycle bin will get turned off/bypassed, and I want to know this is not the case.

1) Let's check you recycle bin to make sure it has not been bypassed. RIGHT click on it and choose properties. It should, by default, be set to "Use one setting for all drives"
Make sure the box "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted IS NOT CHECKED. Make sure you have space for deleted items, I keep my bin set at 5%. Now when we delete the file or folder, it will be moved to the bin and can be restored IF we make a mistake and need it back.
When you check this, you can empty out the Recycle bin now if you know there is nothing you need in it.

2) C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXE You may need to enable hidden files and folders:
http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html
We know this has to go: CDANTSRV.EXE I need you to find out what is in the Drivers folder. I want to make sure other drivers for other programs are not stored there also. You should be able to tell quickly if everything pertains to C-Dilla. If you need to, right click and check the properties. Once you are sure nothing is in the driver folder except C-Dilla, then it can be sent to the Recycle Bin also. We will have the items there if we need them for some reason.

3) Now the service, this will be done in two steps. First we will stop the Service, once we have removed everything from the computer, then we will use HJT to delete the Service. I will give you both steps now, please hold the second step until we are both sure we are done with everything. Unlike the backups HJT makes for items removed by it, when you delete the service you can't get it back.

a) Disable the offending Service
Click Start < Run and type services.msc.
Scroll down to C-DillaSrv and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

B) Delete the offending Service
Open HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service.
In the Delete window, type C-DillaSrv and press OK.
OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.

4) Proceed like this:
Make sure all files and folder are showing, then use item a) and follow the instructions to disable the service.

Now look in the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ folder and decide if the folder can be deleted as in nothing in it but C-Dilla stuff. If this is the case, rather than go to safe mode, we will use the process manager in HJT.
Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Open process manager > Locate this line > C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\CDANTSRV.EXE and highlite it with the mouse. Then click on Kill Process.
Now navigate to the Drivers folder if you have decided you can delete it to the Rycycle Bin and do so. The CDANTSRV.EXE will go along with the folder.

Once you know you have no issues, you may use HJT to delete the Service using those instructions. If you have questions, post them and do keep me posted of your progress. I am not sure about the issues you are having with the CD writer, if removing C-Dilla will repair that problem or not. You may have to reinstall the program or the drivers?

Thanks...Phil
