If you still need help and haven't posted at another forum, post another log from hijackthis. I will get to it as soon as I can.

Also updating and scanning with Spybot and Ad-aware would be a good idea.

Dear little eagle
I don't know if this situation is a problem for my computer. On January 04, 2006 I met repeating extra page called "http://540.filost.co...tes/banner.aspx ", then the problem was solved on 19 January 2006 at this forum. Now, Some O16s which is removed before reappered on the log file. I wonder if these O16s are a danger for the computer. Thank in advance for your help. Looks like something tried to install but didn't

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following,

Spybot S&D lets you kill the 04's, the startups. Start Spybot click mode at the top left,
make sure that advanced mode is checked. Then click on tools on the lower left.
Then system startup, to the right is a double arrow bar click it to expand.
Now clicking on a value you will get a description of the command line. Removing the green
check mark will stop the startup, should you decide that you need or want it back just
replace the check mark. Restarting your PC will complete the change.
Remove the check marks from the ones listed below they really are not necessary.

I am trying to do advice step by step and to understand starting Spybot S&D. I haven't already done uncheck the items you advised. Also, is unchecking the items you advised optional or necessary?


Should I remove the item below?:

Spybot S&D says for this item "Description: CoolWebSearch parasite related-hijacking to Slawsearch.com"

CTFMon is involved with the language/alternative input services in Office XP. CTFMON.exe will continue to put itself back into MSConfig when you run the Office XP apps as long as the Text Services and Speech applets in the Control Panel are enabled. Not required if you don\'t need these features.

Since it is in the system32 folder it should be legit.
