Hi, It's been a long time since I've posted as I've been able to tackle most things on my own now (from your great expertise in the past). Anyway, I've been plagued for the last few weeks by an annoying pop-up windows, sometimes blank with "Powered by ZEDO" in the header....(this even occurs at times when I'm not even on the internet). So far, I've done the following: - run SpyBot 1.4 and Adaware, with updated definitions.........have done this in both normal & Safe mode - run CW Shredder - AVG virus scan (normal & safe mode) - Trend Micro, Panda, & BitDefender online scans - run Xoftspy, Spy Sweeper, & Ewido......all have found minor things After all of this the ZEDO windows still appear here and there.......... computer info is as follows: - windows 2000 pro OS.......all updates current - IE browser (6.0.2800.1106) - AVG virus scan I've attached a current HT log file and would appreciate any insight on what this ZEDO thing is along with how to get rid of it. Thanks!!Attached File  hijackthis01282006.txt   8.3KB   234 downloads

nothing really stands out in the log. lets try this:

scan with HJT, put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click fix checked.

O16 - DPF: {65FDEDF3-8ED9-4F5B-825E-18C2D44191A7} (OneCCCtl Class) - http://d.66.155.171....136140OneCC.cab

also do this:

Click Start>Run then type %temp%
Hit OK. Delete all the files you can.

Empty your Temp folders. Go to Start > Run and type:cleanmgr. Windows will scan. When done check these 3 and press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Do this:

start>settings>Control Panel> click the Internet options icon

Next:

Click on Delete Cookies.

Click on Delete Files, Make sure Delete all offline content is checked and then click on OK

Then click on Settings, then click on View Files if there is any thing in there, delete it.

Then at the top in the address bar, at the end where it says:

\Temporary Internet Files

change it to \Temp then hit enter and delete whats in there
-------------------------------------------------------------
if that dosnt help, rescan with ewido and save and post the ewido log in next reply.......shelf life

1. Click on scanner
2. Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
3. NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
o You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
o If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
o DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
o If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
4. Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
5. Click Save report.
6. Save the report .txt file to your desktop.

Now close ewido security suite.

Thanks.
