CSSRS.EXE Infection

[size=4]I don't know how but a trojan got past my firewall & I've been infected for days now.
I'm pretty sure it was caused by a pic someone sent me, as I'd not patched for january MS exploits.

First of all, open Spybot S&D, click Mode>Advanced>Tools>Resident and remove the check from the Tea Timer box. You can reinstate it later but we don't want it interfering with what we need to do. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\WINDOWS\CSSRS.EXE

It will prompt you to reboot, press the YES button.

After restarting, with only HijackThis running, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Please download MsnVirRem.zip
and save it to your desktop. Once in place, right click the zip file, and extract the files to your desktop. Do not run anything yet

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up and choose Safe Mode from the list.

In the new MsnVirRem folder on your desktop, double click MsnVir.bat and run it. A DOS window should pop up, Let it run until it disappears. It will take time. After it disappears, reboot back into normal mode and post a fresh HijackThis Log.

This is what I got when trying that link.....

Not Found
The requested URL /calvin/MsnVirRem.zip was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You're right - it seems to have been pulled. Repeat my HJT fix above, you still have some entries in your log. Then, please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner (You need to use Internet Explorer for this one as well).

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
- Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
- Scan Options:
Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases
Click OK
Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
This will program will start and scan your system.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
- Now click on the Save as Text button:
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post with a new HJT log.

I did Kapersky 2 times.....had other infections but I was able to manually delete them. This is the 2nd scan with the same ones I couldn't find the 1st time.
