hi

Download and Save Blacklight to your desktop:

Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement, leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked, click > scan then > next

You'll see a list of all items found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers).

Copy and paste this log in your next reply. Don't choose the rename option yet! I want to see the log first, because legitimate items can also be present there, such as "wbemtest.exe"

You may want to print out or make a copy of these instructions before starting, because you will not be able to connect to the internet during most of this fix.

Please download, install, and update the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Exit Ewido. DO NOT scan yet.
use blacklight to rename the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\howiper.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pppcgm.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sphlp32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\filesafer23.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\favset.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmfjp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\csylr.exe

Reboot into Safe Mode. To do this with Windows XP, you can follow these steps from Microsoft:
  • Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when you the Boot Menu appears.
  • Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  • When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
Now run Ewido again.
  • Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack....
  • If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
  • When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again.
open hijackthis
press do a system scan only
checkmark these lines:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = C:\WINDOWS\system32\msblank.html
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {627AF65B-0A2C-E291-1C34-B483594516A4} - TemplateDongle.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iesetupdll] jopplerg.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [scanSYS] TForm1.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MsNetHelper] new32.exe

O23 - Service: Network Monitor - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Network Monitor\netmon.exe

then close all other programs. leaving only hijackthis running
and click fix checked

Finally, restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

also post a new blacklight log thank you :D
good luck !!!

I'm so sorry, you have been SO patient and explained everything really well, but I ran into a problem. I installed Ewido just fine and did not yet scan. You next instruction said to use Blacklight and rename the files indicated. This is where I am stuck. I ran blacklight again, but I don't know how to rename them. The only options I see are SCAN and SHOW ALL PROCESSES. I opened SHOW ALL PROCESSES and see a list of items, but they don't include the files you wrote. Am I missing something obvious? And when I find the files, how do I rename them/what do I rename them to? I do apologize, I really hate being this slow on the uptake. You're very kind to offer all this help.

None of the files you want me to rename show up in the scan. I took screenshots so I can show you what files I see listed.

Out of an attempt to "try" and rename something, I highlighted one of the files, but did not get an rename option. I double-clicked it and it opened a small window showing me where it was, but still not offering a rename option. What am I doing incorrectly?

doubleclick blbeta.exe, hit scan.
once the scan is complete click on next to enter the cleaning step, there highlight an item. select rename
after going through all items listed above click finish

reboot
now i suppose many of those have changed names, so lets try another method so you dont have to post that BLL log again:

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items(if there):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = C:\WINDOWS\system32\msblank.html
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {627AF65B-0A2C-E291-1C34-B483594516A4} - TemplateDongle.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iesetupdll] jopplerg.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [UnSpyPC] "C:\Program Files\UnSpyPC\UnSpyPC.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [scanSYS] TForm1.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MsNetHelper] new32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [JAguAr] StatusCheck.exe
O9 - Extra button: Scan and protect your PC - {BF69DF00-4734-477F-8257-27CD04F88779} - C:\Program Files\UnSpyPC\UnSpyPC.exe (file missing) (HKCU)
O16 - DPF: {1D0D9077-3798-49BB-9058-393499174D5D} - file://c:\counter.cab
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{92BA9644-444C-48EE-B021-D5F432A078AC}: NameServer = 85.255.116.103,
O23 - Service: Network Monitor - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Network Monitor\netmon.exe

If you see a new item that wasnt in your last log in your O4 lines in hijackthis, starting with dm... for example:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dm***.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dm***.exe (the *** stand for random letters)
or starting with hg***.exe for example:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hg***.exe] C:\Windows\System32\hg***.exe
or starting with cs***.exe for example:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cscyd.exe] cscyd.exe
Check it as well. If your not sure, leave it and only check the ones I asked you to check
===========================================================
Click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

Finally, please post the contents of report.txt (it should open), along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
If You have connection problems or those 017's ~ O17 - HKLM~ 85.255.116.103,85.255.112.198, return =>
Before doing this write down all the settings, Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, while some connection service's will require them.
In the windows control panel: If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be available one some systems

Did the first part of your instructions, but I get this trying the second: The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file Didn't want to fuss with any settings just yet.

could you zip the files in safe mode

make a new empty folder on your desktop,
then move those files to the folder using windows explorer

zip the file, and password protect it ( use the password infected )

for more info see how do i create a password protected zip file

reboot back to normal mode, go to http://www.thespykil...x.php?board=1.0
press new topic
make the thresds title "files for illukka"

for the message put a link tothis thread
then attach the zip you created, and press post

thank you

then rescan with hijackthis and post a new log
also do another scan with blacklight, post its results too
