Hi Kim and welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help and are not receiving it elsewhere, I will see what I can do. This is the Vundo trojan, before we start, please do this.

1) Move HJT from the Desktop for safety. I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas....tehjtfolder.htm

2) This item is installed by aol usually without your knowledge. At the least it is a resource waster. If you want it gone uninstall it from your Add Remove programs and I'll clean anything left later.
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

http://www.greatis.c...viewmgr.exe.htm
http://www.spywarein...4.php#viewpoint

3) Please start by downloading VirtumundoBegone http://secured2k.hom...mundoBeGone.exe and save it to your desktop. When you have done this doubleclick on VirtumundoBeGone.exe and follow the instructions. Do not worry if you see a BLUE SCREEN "Fatal Error" Message, it is normal and expected.
When it has finished, reboot and post the log that is created on your desktop called VBG.TXT in your next reply.

4) Microsoft AntiSpyware will block HJT, go offline and then disable MAS, after you finish, turn it back on before returning online:
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(some lines may be gone after the fix was run)

O2 - BHO: ATLDistrib Object - {2353FCBC-012D-487B-8BF3-865C0929FBEB} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\opppp.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.stumbleupon.com <<< unless you are positive it is safe, remove it
O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://download.game...aploader_v6.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: opppp - C:\WINDOWS\system32\opppp.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Windows\Prefetch\ >>> delete everything in this folder (NOT THE FOLDER)
Prefetch info: http://www.windowsne...refetch-XP.html
If you can't see the Prefetch folder us this information: http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then OK. Allow the program to run and remove anything it locates. Restart your computer and post the VBG.TXT and new HJT log along with your comments.

When you are sure all malware issues have been resolved, use this information to get fresh System Restore files in case bad stuff got backed up in them.

Hi Kim :) sorry about the double information. Seems the Vundo trojan is gone and your HJT log looks to be clean, how are you running now? If all is well, let me leave you with some great information.
Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
http://boards.cexx.o...topic.php?t=957
http://russelltexas....re/allclear.htm
http://forum.malware...wtopic.php?t=14

I see ewido is running, that is as it should be if you own it. If you downloaded the trial and it is expired, then the program is using your resources and should be turned off. You can still manually update and run the scanner for as long as you wish.

Just to make sure nothing bad got into your System Restore files, use the information in this link to get clean files: http://service1.syma...src=sec_doc_nam

If there is anything else I can do let me know, otherwise I will wish you safe surfing...Phil

Thanks...pskelley
