Firstly I'd like to say a big thank you for this forum and to all the contributors.

I have found my PC like many other people to have been affected with UnSpyPC Scanner spyware. Once I had realised this, my PC was running really slow and all my search results in Google kept being redirected to different web pages, I took the following steps:-

Booted into safe mode and ran the following applications with the latest updates (AVG, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Cwshredder, Ewido Anti-malware, SpywareBlaster, Spyware Doctor) which found viruses/spyware. The viruses/spyware infected files was removed or deleted.

Having thought everything was now fine I rebooted normally and ran the applications mentioned above again, which returned a clean bill of health. Launched IE and found the problem still existed. When through the whole cleaning process again but this time I unregistered the WMF service with the following command (too late I know)
and also ran a utility called Fixware

I am still going around in circles as I still have the problem with my browser, I really need some help and would appreciate your assistance. I have included the log from Hijack this and Fixware which is listed below. Thanks for reading this post.

You may want to try this. No guarantees.

Hi Sigyyx, Thanks for your reply I have downloaded the fix but I am yet to apply it. One thing I have noticed from Hijack log is Q17. I have no idea what this is doing as I have looked this up using www.dnsstuff and entered the IP address into IP lookup, could this be spyware? This IP address has nothing to do with my PC or ISP provider. Should I remove this key from my reg? Hi, Problem I think may have been solved, I checked my IP settings under Network Connections and found the suspect IP addresses were set as the DNS servers. I checked with my ISP and was given the correct IP addresses. I will apply the fix mentioed previously and ran the tests. once this has been done I will post the logs. Thanks

Hi,

Problem now solved PC is running like a dream now! Removed the following entry manually from Windows in safe mode :-

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMSUQ.EXE

Found the application 'fixwareout' to be a fantastic bit of software that finally nailed the problem after using ewido and Spyware Doctor etc. I think it is ideal to use the following apps :-

AVG, Ad-Aware, HijackThis, Cwshredder,Ewido, Fixwareout, IESpyad, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Doctor CANT BE TOO CAREFUL! :P

Thanks for all your help and time, glad we have a forum we can go for solid support!

Now that my PC is clean should I turn this service back regsvr32 -u %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll on or should I wait for Microsoft to release a patch..if I wait what application should I use to view jpegs etc?

P.S to new users if you have spyware/malware have a read of the previous posts as most users have the same problems.
