Download Killbox from here >>>> http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip

Save to your Desktop and double click it to open it up

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\GMD.exe (file missing)

When it prompts you to reboot press the YES button.

After restarting, with only HijackThis running, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O23 - Service: GMD - Unknown owner - C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\GMD.exe (file missing)

Reboot again when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Siggyx, When I put C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\GMD.exe (file missing) in Killbox, I got a message saying "PendingFileRename Operations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" I did add "(file missing)" after C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\GMD.exe as indicated, but maybe I shouldn't have had…? Also, yesterday I did some cleaning using Ashampoo WinOptimiser, so maybe it is why it didn't work…! Should I still do the Hijackthis scan?
DONE!

YES, IT SEEMS TO WORK MUCH BETTER NOW! Syggyx, guessing that you are probably quite occupied with people who need help with their computer issues, I thank you for having taken some time to find what problems my computer was having! If, as I feel, you spend lots of time with your computer you probably realised, as I did for me, that it is necessary to have good breaks sometimes… Hence, if you leave in Cambridge UK, in order to thank you, I would like to recommend you to go to the following address for having special breaks, free of charge. ADDRESS: INNER SPACE, 6 KING'S PARADE CITY: CAMBRIDGE STATE: CAMBS ZIP/POSTAL CODE: CB2 1SJ Say that you come from someone who was before at Global Cooperation House. They would understand. It is really worth and it’s free! KNOWING THAT YOU ARE BRIEF IN YOUR ANSWERS MAY I ASK YOU TO CONFIRM THE FOLLOWING SIMPLY JUST BY YES/NO OR A SHORT ANSWER…? To resume: The malwares "Email-Worm.Win32.Sober.k" and "Net-Worm.Win32.Mytob.bi" that have been found in Thunderbird were not a threat because they were not active on my machine ? ————- I should sometimes keep running Spybot, AdAware SE, ewido, MicroWorldAntiVirus and Stinger along with Kaspersky ? - All together ? - All of them in Safe Mode is better ? - Is Asquared software really worth to have? ————- I can now uninstalled and throw away L2mfix, Killbox ? ————- Kaspersky takes lots of my computer resources; do you have any suggestions for a powerful antivirus which is light and fast…? ————- Shall I enable again GMD (in services.msc) ? - Otherwise, what is it ? Where can I read information about it ? ————- The line you asked me to fix: O23 - Service: DAGTQMHH - Unknown owner - C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\DAGTQMHH.exe (file missing) What was it, where can I find information about it ? (I search on Internet about the last two questions, but couldn’t find anything) HOPE IS NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR YOU TO ANSWER…?

The malwares "Email-Worm.Win32.Sober.k" and "Net-Worm.Win32.Mytob.bi" that have been found in Thunderbird were not a threat because they were not active on my machine ?

Thats correct

I should sometimes keep running Spybot, AdAware SE, ewido, MicroWorldAntiVirus and Stinger along with Kaspersky ?
- All together ?
- All of them in Safe Mode is better ?

I have posted some notes below. Ewido scanner is free even after the 30 trail expires. Keep it and scan, say once a week.

- Is Asquared software really worth to have?

Keep it as an on demand scanner. It works great as a 1/2 with ewido if you have issues.

I can now uninstalled and throw away L2mfix, Killbox ?

Yes, they are not needed anymore.

Kaspersky takes lots of my computer resources; do you have any suggestions for a powerful antivirus which is light and fast…?

I use AVG Free with a router. You can find a link to avg in my notes at the bottom. I also have a software firewall that I fire up when I need to cruise the net checking on potentially bad sites/links.

Shall I enable again GMD (in services.msc) ?
- Otherwise, what is it ? Where can I read information about it ?

Generally nothing should be running out of a temp folder as this was. This is a favourite place for virus writters to dump the exe files. The fact that you can not find much on Google about it is a bit of a tip off its trouble. I would leave it disabled.

The line you asked me to fix:
O23 - Service: DAGTQMHH - Unknown owner - C:\DOCUME~1\Y0G\LOCALS~1\Temp\DAGTQMHH.exe (file missing)
What was it, where can I find information about it ?

Bascillay the same answer above but it sticks out even more as it is a randomly named file.

I live in Cambridge, Ontario canada so that would be a long trip for me, I grew up in GB but have not been back since well lets say my fav group was Hermin and the Hermits :P

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.

Safe Surfing. :D
