You are running HJT from a TEMP file and no where in the three links I provided does it show this:Make sure you follow the instructions to put the HJT log in a safe, permanent folder. Anything else will slow things down more.
C:\DOCUME~1\Bill\LOCALS~1\Temp\HijackThis.exe
Please move the HijackThis.exe to here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, use the information I provided if you need more information.
Thanks...

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix
Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
- Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
- This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
- After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
- Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
- You will first be presented with a warning.
It should look like this
VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
Press enter to continue....
- At this point press enter one time.
- Next you will see:
Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
and then press enter: - At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
- C:\WINDOWS\system32\byvwu.dll
- Press Enter to continue with the fix.
- Next you will see:
Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
staff then press enter: - At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\uwvyb.*
This will be the vundo filename spelt backwards. for example if the vundo dll was vundo.dll you would have the user enter odnuv.* - Press Enter to continue with the fix.
- The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
- In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byvwu.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: byvwu - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byvwu.dll
O2 - BHO: Bho - {EFDAC3FE-F44A-4030-8589-1E23BC6573D5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\xyyxjosc.dll
- After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis.
- Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
- Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
- Empty Recycle Bins
- Delete Cookies
- Delete Prefetch files
- Cleanup! All Users
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.
Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan
Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.
We will have more to do. Could you tell me in your next post what this item is:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCCInstall] D:\Intro\AA\MCCInstall\English\MCCInstall.exe -Step=5
Thanks...Phil

Thanks again Phil. A couple things, first, one item you asked me to check on my HTL 02 - BHOMSEvents Object ... didn't appear in the new scan. Also, that file you were asking about?? I have no idea what it is so it can go I guess. As for the location of the HTL, I put it in the C drive but wasn't aware it is in a temp file, I don't understand how to move it from there to a permanent folder. Thanks Phil

I deleted everything and started again from scratch. I created the hijack this folder I think word for word so I hope it's now in the right place. Let me know if it isn't.

Log looks much better, I would still like to know what this is:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCCInstall] D:\Intro\AA\MCCInstall\English\MCCInstall.exe -Step=5 It is running for your D:\ go there and right click it and tell me what the properties say, thanks.
This: O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://playweb19.pog...aploader_v6.cab >>> read this: http://www.trendmicr...v...E=ADW_POP.A is considered grayware and may be responsible for advertising. I suggest you use HJT to remove it. Now let's look at the stuff ActiveScan would not remove.
Go here and download Killbox: http://www.malwarere.../downloads.html item #15 save it to your Desktop, then view this tutorial so you will know how to use it: http://forum.malware...topic.php?t=320 This will work much better if done in safe mode. I have never had the opportunity to remove this much junk from my computer but I believe you will see that you can delete them all at once. If not, then do them one at a time. I will also say that it is much easier to copy/paste the stuff to Killbox like you do the HJT log, than it is to type each line where mistakes can happen.
Make sure to read the instructions carefully. Once this is done, I would like to do more cleaning if it alright with you to make sure nothing bad is hiding. When you finish with Killbox, then post a new HJT log and tell me how you are running now.
Here are the files you will be using Killbox to delete:

Once this is done, I would like to do more cleaning if it alright with you to make sure nothing bad is hiding. When you finish with Killbox, then post a new HJT log and tell me how you are running now.

1) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.
2) Ewido scan:
Please download Ewido Security Suite it is a trial version of the program.
- Install ewido security suite
- Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
- The program will now go to the main screen
- On the left hand side of the main screen click update
- Then click on Start Update
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.
Ewido manual updates
Once the updates are installed do the following:
- Click on scanner
- Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
- NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
- You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
- If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
- DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
- If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
- Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
- Click Save report.
- Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
**(Ewido for example has been flagging parts of AVG Anti-Virus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk")
3) C:\Windows\Prefetch\ >>> delete everything in this folder (NOT THE FOLDER)
Prefetch info: http://www.windowsne...refetch-XP.html
If you can't see the Prefetch folder see this: http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html
4) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do. Then restart the computer and post a new HJT log and the Ewido scan results in this same thread along with any feedback you have. I am interested in how the computer is running.
