Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) anyone ever heard of windowsformsparking? my puter gets a low virtual memory and slows right down. i shut down some programmes if not all and it seems to recover. but i usually restart and that is when i get a taskbar message windowsformsparking, that it is not shutting down and to end now etc. it has only started recently and i haven't installed anything new. i have a maxtor external drive and i have a suspicion it may be related to it, because when the drive runs (sometimes for no reason) it all slows down. there doesn't seem to be alot about windowsformsparking in google, it was suggested it may be related to a "idle program which sits in the background sucking memory" which may be maxtor in this case. any help appreciated. thanks. :)
thanks. i saw that somewhere else about the hp printer, but i don't have one, but as it is an external device, i'm thinking it is something to do with my maxtor. anyway i tried to delete this thread earlier, and i feel bad about it but i had already posted a similar thread in another forum, but i didn't get any replies. (i'm going home to my folks for christmas and probably won't have internet access for a while and wanted to get this sorted before i do go.) the mods can lock this thread if they wish or if anyone else has suggestions that would be great. i got a reply on the other place and i was told to get rid of the malware that showed up on the hijack this log on my puter first. i've just cleaned out alot of malware/cookies and i'm going to run programs and do what i usually do on my puter to test to see if the problem re-occurs. thanks :)
