Been having very slow load times when I try to open Internet Explorer of 20-30 seconds or more. Have run SpyBot, Adaware and Spysweeper and all are clean. This is on a new HDwith a clean XP & SP2 install.

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Still a bit slow to load IE. I'm still finding tracking spyware when I run SpySweeper and AdAware. I delete them but both programs still find new ones every day. Mostly tracking ads.

Have you updated Sun Java yet?

Sun Java has updated (build 6) to remove 5 known critical issue.

It is important to remove older versions as these are the ones with the holes in them. You will be surprised when you go to add/remove to see all of the versions sitting there.

Download Newest >>>> Sun Java

Once installed you can test to see that it is in fact installed >>>>

Yup, it's the newest version. I'm wondering if the delay is being caused by either Zone Alarm or Norton Anti Virus or some other setting that may be delaying the IE browser from opening, rather than any kind of malware.
I think I solved my problems…I dumped IE and loaded up Firefox. No problems now! I think I'll stick with this for a while. Thanks for your help and happy holidays
