Greetings

After reading all the nightmares everyone is going thru/gone thru I decided to download hijackthis and save the log and paste it here. Its not as bothersome as others have experience but it sure makes doing homework horrid. And thanks mucho, mucho for all the help that you guys will provide.

Hi joie, Seems the Vundo fix worked:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljgd.dll Deleted sucessfully.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dgjlm.* Deleted sucessfully.

But not the HJT portion of the fix. When you finished with VundoFix, then you should have used HJT to remove the stuff in bold? Give me some feedback on that so I will know why that happened. Sometimes a spyware program will block the fix. I do not see such a program, and intended to make you aware of your need and supply you with some freeware links once you are clean. Does Trend Micro have any blocking abilities. Give HJT a try again, and once you finish look at the log. If those lines you just checked are still there, you will have to start the computer in Safe Mode and delete them there. Here is the information for starting in Safe Mode if you need it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html Now let's do this:
Spybot has a missing file: O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll (file missing) and is not working correctly. Make sure you download version 1.04 and Ad-aware 1.06, then follow the instructions.

1) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://us.rd.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaul…rch/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://us.rd.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaul…rch/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://us.rd.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaul…//www.yahoo.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {B313D637-F405-4052-AC37-E2119AB3C8F8} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljgd.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: mljgd - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljgd.dll (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll >>> file <<< if that file is there, delete it. You must have hidden files and folders enabled or you will not see it.

Run the cleaner again, using those same instructions, then restart the computer. If the stuff is gone, post a last log for a final look. If it is not gone, then remove it in Safe Mode then post the log.

Thanks…Phil
