My Internet explorer got modified, startpage is re-directed through something called amazinautossearch.com and I have a search task line at the top and bottom of my explorer window. Did run adware 6.0 and spybot search and destroy and removed the critical items but the problems remains. Here my HijackThis file - help very much appreciated!

Hello.

Welcome to TomCoyote Forums. You have a CoolWebSearch infection - that's a rather nasty browser hijacker. :(

To clean it up, we need to download and run a special program that's made just for this problem. Go to this site http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip and download CWShredder. Unzip it to any convenient PERMANENT folder (such as C:\CWS) and run it. Be sure to click on FIX (rather than SCAN, which will NOT fix anything), and let it fix everything it finds.

After the program finishes, turn your computer OFF for at least 30 seconds. Then reboot and post a fresh log so we can go on to the next stage of this cleanup.

Did you reboot before running HJT and posting the new log? I'd have expected quite a bit more action than what seems to have happened.

That's really strange. Not to insult you, but did you run FIX instead of Scan? It's an easy mistake to make. ALso, do you have the latest updates? There has been a new one very recently, and even though you downloaded the file today, you might not have the latest version, which is Version 1.56.0! Please check. Thanks.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':
