hey pskelly, thanks for the advice. Alot of spyware and adware was removed from my pc, but it seems to be running a little slower than before. i went through the procedure again with new updates today and about 11 were detected and removed with "spybot", 10 with "ad-aware" and 3 with "ewido". why do i keep getting spyware? is it because i havent installed my java updates? i have no clue on how to manually install the java updates. here are my latest log reports as requested. thank again dav3

First, let me say your other post was closed after five days of not hearing from you once you were clean. As far as your questions about spyware, those are probably spyware cookies called data miners, you get those because of where you surf. This information may or may not help you control those cookies:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/…acy/config.mspx some cookies are necessary to use certain secure sites and information like passwords. I personally chose to allow no cookies and used IE to override that for sites I have to have a cookie for.
The information I posted in the last thread if reviewed and applied where necessary will go along way towards keeping you safe, there are no 100% guarantees. The guy who comes up with one will be richer that Bill Gates. I will also say that the ewido log will tell you who is pplacing those spyware cookies (data miners), it is up to you to stop them.

You HJT log is still clean, for Java click on Start then Control Panel. Look for the coffee cup. Open the Java Console and look for updates. Follow the instructions. If you need this, here is the Java website.
