Hello dav3yaa and welcome to TomCoyote forum. In trying to research this:

compaq conections is missing an id seperater

I need to suggest the importance of making sure error messages are correct, especially the spelling, Google won't find it otherwise. With the corrected spelling Google says this:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls;=GGL…parator&spell;=1 You do have some adware that needs to go so I will give you a good cleaning. I have no way of knowing if this will correct the error message or not. If it does not, I suggest you review the information Google has to offer then contact Compaq/HP for their instructions.

I see your Java is out of date and it seems you have autoupdates enabled for it. I would manually update as it is a security issue.

Before you start, HJT needs a folder. Return to C:\Program Files and make a folder by RIGHT clicking a blank spot, call it HJT. Move HJT.exe into that folder. It will now look like this: C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe

Please follow the posted order:

1) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp and please do not run it until I ask you to.

2) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.

3) Ewido scan:
Please download Ewido Security Suite it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.
Ewido manual updates

Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
    • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
    • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
    • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
    • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.
**(Ewido for example has been flagging parts of AVG Anti-Virus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk")

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(if you use those HP redirects leave them, if not remove them)

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t;…ario&pf;=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t;…ario&pf;=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://yahoo.sbc.com/dsl
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Windows\Prefetch: Locate this folder and delete all of the contents (NOT THE FOLDER) This information will tell you more about Prefetch:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_…refetch-XP.html

If you can't locate that Prefetch folder then use this link to enable hidden files and folder:

http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

5) Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do. Then restart the computer and post a new HJT log and the Ewido scan results in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let me know how you are running now.

Thanks…pskelley

OK!! Good to hear things are running better, I will try to answer your questions then have a look at your logs.

just wanted to say thank you. everythings running smoothly, at least from my perspective.
should i configure ad-ware and ewido to always run at start up

I would run neither. Keep in mind ewido will stop giving realtime protection after the trial period. You may update and use the scanner for as long as you like. Right now it is using some resources, that will stop after two weeks. I run Ad-aware and Spybot about once a week, and run a complete scan with Ad-aware about once a month. I suggest you look in the links I provide for freeware programs that give realtime protection.

i was wondering if you could tell me what computer courses did you take?

This is a tough one, there is so much one can learn. I started in troubleshooting hardware issues, then I got a bad infection and met a mentor who involved me in malware removal and I have spent about five years learning how to remove it and I can tell you we are always behind the ones who put it there. Must have something to do with the fact that we are volunteers and they are doing it for the $$$. I really depends on what your interests are. Here is a google for "free computer tutorials" and you have 24,400,000 choices…lol. I suggest just like you would not know your major on the first day of school, try different things and find out first what captures your interest. There are free malware classes available at several sites where you can learn at your own pace, but I caution you that you will need to desire to learn because this is far from easy. I hope that helps.

No surprises, all cookies. Look where they are: C:\Documents and Settings\GAY ESKIMO\Cookies\ and make that a part of your maintenance routine, cleaning there also.

You moved your HJT from C:\Program Files to your Desktop. I want to suggest you look at my instructions again. Running on the desktop, logs and backups can easily get deleted and you may need one of those backups some day.

Your Java is still not updated and this can create a security breach and get you infected. Click on the coffee cup in the control panel and locate updates and do so.

This is optional, read about this item: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE here: http://castlecops.com/startuplist-180.html and here: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navc…=ALCXMNTR%2EEXE If you want it gone, be careful to remove only the file. You need the balance of the program.

The rest of the log appears clean of malware so here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
